Intelligent Green Energy (NZ) Ltd, has announced that it is supplying fully off grid solar micro-grids to Vanuatu’s remote islands. The move is part of the company’s efforts to provide sustainable and affordable energy solutions to developing countries in the Pacific region. The micro-grids will be installed on some of the most remote and isolated areas of Vanuatu, starting with the island of Ambrym.
These islands currently rely on diesel generators for their electricity needs, which are expensive and polluting. The micro-grids, on the other hand, are powered by renewable energy and can provide a reliable and cost-effective source of electricity to these remote communities. They are also designed to be scalable, which means that they can be expanded as the demand for electricity grows.
Overall, the installation of these micro-grids is a positive step towards a more sustainable and environmentally friendly energy future for Vanuatu. It is hoped that other countries in the region will follow suit and invest in renewable energy solutions to help reduce their carbon footprint and improve the lives of their people.
